Kisumu Girls High School

Brief History

Kisumu Girls’ High School was built in 1962 as an off-shoot of Kisumu Boys High School. Originally it was a three streamed school until 1977 when we started two harambee streams that were later taken over by the Ministry of Education.

It is a public D.E.B. Girls’ high school. It is registered as a full day school but we are working on making it a full boarding school.

It has a population of 1013 students (882 of who are boarders) and (131 day scholars). It has a population of 55 teachers and 34 support staff.
