2020 Family of the Year Award (FOYA) Prizegiving
On Thursday 29th October 2020, eKitabu held a conversation on Zoom with parents and teachers who joined a new program we have been working on for the past two years and launched this year during the pandemic: the Family Of the Year Award. The program was open to all parents of children with and without disabilities to celebrate parents, caregivers, and families who find ways to improve their children’s learning. The COVID-19 pandemic gave special relevance to this experimental effort focused on inclusive and quality education.

eKitabu congratulates all of the FOYA winners and participants in our first annual event. FOYA was an idea conceived by the eKitabu team in order to support parents’ engagement in their children’s learning activities because we recognize that parents are key in the development, care, and education of their children. Parents’ encouragement at home gives children a sense of belonging and inspiration to do their chores well at home and work hard in school. The eKitabu team is excited to work with parents, teachers and children in developing this new FOYA program in order to engage families and promote more inclusive and accessible education for all learners.

I hereby submit my jottings about the pandemic. I have learnt more about general body hygiene and ways of averting some common diseases and also has made me more familiar with the hygiene tools such as mask and sanitizer. On other hand , I also encountered problems such as traveling and associating since there was total lockdown. I also had a problem of purchasing goods and my education level dropped.
