Digital Essay Competition 2026 Closes
August 31, 2026

We are pleased to announce the official closing of the submission period for the Digital Essay Competition 2026, which has received over 24,900 entries. Centred on the theme, “Let me Speak”, this year's competition has served as an important platform for learners to express themselves openly. This year’s submissions demonstrate remarkable diversity, featuring entries in numerous languages, including mother tongue, French, Arabic, German, Mandarin, Spanish, Korean, and Swedish, as well as contributions in Braille, KSL, Poetry, and from the Kakuma Refugee Camp.

Our dedicated judges have successfully completed the first judging and the second round of judging is currently ongoing. This phase will determine approximately 20 finalists per category, from whom the ultimate winners will be selected.

The winners will be formally recognized and awarded during the Nairobi International Book Fair on 25 September 2026. Following the ceremony, our team will conduct outreach visits to various schools to celebrate and award the finalists. We wish all participating learners the best of luck as we look forward to recognizing their achievements.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the learners, educators, and mobilization agents whose combined efforts have made this year's edition a resounding success. We also deeply appreciate our judges for their rigorous commitment and expertise in upholding the standards of the competition.
