Dear Friends,Last year, we held a first Family Of the Year Award (FOYA) program to engage families with children at home during COVID-19 pandemic and promote inclusivity in education for all. Parents' encouragement at home gives children a sense of belonging and inspiration to do well at home and in school.We’ve begun 2021 by delivering the cash awards and gift hampers for the 4 winning families and 26 finalists countrywide in Kenya. The top winners included Miriam Ongama of Ebukuya School for the Deaf in Vihiga County, Fidelis Kimeu and Victoria Masila of Thika School for the Blind in Kiambu County, and James Wanyama of St. Oda School for the Blind in Siaya County.
